Information about Oxley United Football Club

Oxley United Football Club

Oxley United Football Club began in 1912 and fielded its first senior men's team in 1913. The club has had many successes over the years and at one time was the premier Brisbane club winning the first division in 1958 and the Ampol cup in 1959.

The club has always prided itself on being an integral part of the Oxley community providing football to youths, children, men and women in the Oxley district. Oxley United has always been a family orientated club with a number of Oxley families providing several generations of junior and senior players to the club.

As the club enters its 100th year, it has a number of key goals that it is seeking to achieve, the most important goal is being the club of choice for families to access in the Oxley and surrounding district.

Overall, the club will be looking to achieve the following goals during 2012:

1. Develop a proposal and seek grant funding and community sponsorship to undertake internal and external clubhouse renovations

2. Increase our junior and senior participation rates

3. Provide greater opportunities for our junior players to improve their skills as footballers

4. Conduct further upgrades to our playing facilities

5. Increase our level of activity within the Oxley community and forge greater links with the people in our district

6. Build further on our family friendly culture at the club, where families continue to feel welcome and where Oxley United becomes the first club of choice for families from the Oxley district

If anyone would like to participate in the Oxley United vision, please contact any of the committee members for advice on how you can get involved.
