Congratulations to Mike Bailey and Steve Hennell

A big congratulations to Mike Bailey and Steve Hennell, whose long term efforts at Oxley United were recognised at the 100 Year Celebratory dinner on Saturday night 19 May.

In front of over 150 Oxley United players and supporters from the 50s through to the present, Mike and Steve were both awarded life membership.

On a fantastic evening for the club, the following Life Members were also recognised, with those who attended formally presented with their Life Membership badges: Len Jones, Peter Townsend, Chris Parker, Val Parker, Ethel Buhagiar, Russell Peachey.

The evening began with a speech by Mike Bailey before special guest Paul Wade provided an inspirational speech on facing challenges and rising to the occasion.

A great night was had by all and the club is really proud to have reached this remarkable goal and was thrilled that so many current members plus those from the 50s, 60s and 70s were all involved in the occasion.

Oxley United 100 Year Celebratory Dinner

Oxley United is celebrating it's 100th Anniversary in 2012 and the highlight of the year will be the gala dinner on May 19th at the Novotel in Brisbane City.  

Ange Postecoglou will be the guest speaker, and the evening will be hosted by Gerry Collins from ABC Radio.  We encourage all former players, supporters, rivals and volunteers to attend this evening, which should be a great celebration of the last 100 Years of Oxley Football.

Tickets include a 3 course meal, a 5 hour drinks package, and live music, and are $140 each or $1300 for a table of 10.
