Irrigation tanks and sprinklers near complete
Friday, April 29, 2011 at 5:14PM The irrigation contractors' working at Dunlop park is nearing completion of the tank and playing field irrigation stage. This is a great outcome for Oxley United, Dunlop park, and the local community. Keep in mind that this means the WHOLE of Dunlop Park is now fully irrigated!!! The irrigation, along with recent upgrades to lighting and ground maintenance equipment means that Oxley United's playing fields will be amongst the best playing fields (and one of the largest football parks) in Brisbane.
The project has been funded and managed by the Brisbane City Council and we greatly appreciate the work performed by the BCC.
Stage 2 of the project will commence when we can get a reasonable patch of clear weather. This work involves creating a storm water collection sump and harvesting system to feed to the new holding tanks. This will enable the club to cut down on town water consumption.
The club will be approaching a number of people for an induction on the use and maintenance of the new system. Please get in touch with Jerry if you want to help out with the irrigation. Don't be shy. All assistance, no matter how small, is appreciated.
